My Mission

I’m Yohanna Romero Baca, an MEE/MPT Expert and Bar Exam Coach. I went from failing the bar exam to passing it in three states (MD, FL, TX). I help JD grads who are struggling to pass the bar exam overcome feelings of overwhelm, self-doubt, and perfectionism so they can show up as their best selves on the bar exam and beyond. Through a combination of strategy and mindset, I help struggling bar exam takers go from feeling overwhelmed to feeling confident they can take on the bar exam.

Whether this is your first time taking the bar exam or your third, I’m glad you are here.

My 3-part framework was born out of my experience with the bar exam and 15 years in private practice. I created a proven IRAC Like A Pro formula that worked for me not once but three times. It is now the formula my clients are using to raise their written score on the bar exam by over 40 and even 49 points. It is not a magic pill solution. It works if you put in the work.

My dream is to help hundreds of JD grads leverage the written portion of the bar exam to their advantage. Why? Because doing so is the fastest and shortest route to a passing score. My hope is that you up-level your IRAC’ing and studying skills and yourself in the process and find your attorney voice.

I live outside of Houston, TX with my husband, 10-year-old son, and Bailey the beagle. When I am not bar exam coaching, you can find me playing catch with my son. I live in a white t-shirt, jeans, and Hoka sneakers. I’m a self-proclaimed foodie who loves to ride my bike, meditate, and do yoga.

My Story

After graduating from the George Washington University Law School, I did what every responsible recent JD grad does – sign up for one of the main bar prep courses.

I followed the course as best as I could. I attended every lecture, completed every handout, used my flashcards, read and re-read my outlines. I did it all. But part of me knew I was in over my head. I quickly realized I had a lot of ground to cover and not enough time. I was overwhelmed and too freaked out to focus. I would sit to study only to lose time deciding what I was going to do that day. I was burned out and miserable.

Needless to say, I did not pass the bar exam the first time. I was devastated. I was at work when the results were posted. I immediately started crying. I was so embarrassed. I felt I let my family and my boss down. I felt all my co-workers, family, and friends were thinking I wasn’t smart enough to pass. Deep down inside, I was worried I would fail again.

After grieving for several weeks, I decided enough was enough. I had to take matters into my own hands. I had trusted the traditional bar prep process and got burned. The system was flawed and I had to do bar prep differently if I wanted to pass. Following my bar prep course kept me from doing the things I needed to do to get a passing score.

I needed a better way to prepare for the bar exam…

The truth was I didn’t know the rules well despite graduating from a top-tiered law school and having a bar prep course.

The BIGGEST realization I had was that the shortest route to a passing score was by leveraging the written portion of the bar exam. There were just too many variables on the multiple-choice that were out of my control. The written portion was a safer bet.

Finally, I knew I had to work on my frame of mind because I couldn’t learn feeling overwhelmed.

And that’s what I did! My process worked so well that I used it to pass in Maryland, Florida, and Texas – all in a 4 year period.

This is how my 3-part framework was born.

As it turned out, I was right. There was a better way to bar prep!

I launched my legal career and spent 15 years in private practice in Miami, FL and Houston, TX making an impact and a living as a licensed attorney.

Now I get to help shape the next generation of attorneys by sharing my secrets with them so they too can pass the bar exam even if they’ve been struggling to pass for years. My hope is that you fast-track your way to success on the bar exam and beyond using the knowledge and skills that took me many years to learn.

Let’s take on the bar exam!
